Change Background Color

I have some trouble with changing the background color from dark grey to white.

I'd like to change the background color from dark-grey to white.
Can this be done in the Customizer?! I spent about an hour to find out - with minor success...

Additionally I've tried to solve this by editing the css files. Firebug ist telling me to change bootstrap.css in line 7832. If I adopt it in Firebug it works,
but by implementing it in the original css file it doesn't.

How can i cange the color?!

If you want another background for the site, please add this syntax to your css/custom.css

body, html {background:#ff0000}

But you can change the background in customizer too:
>> Customizer > Advanced > Background Color
