New Install With Quickstart - Menu not showing

I kind of thought the layout would immediately change to the layout shown on your demo of this template, but it didn't change. There were some changes to fonts and other things, but it doesn't look like the layout shown on the demo.

But the most important thing is that my menu is not showing at all. I cannot find documentation to tell me how to show the menu. Can you help? Thank you.
