uploading template, no demo data
total newby to joomla here, I must be overlooking something simple but I'm stuck… I have Joomla installed at my hosting site, have uploaded my Ice template (the zip file), joomla says installation successful, but I only see the 'Getting Started' language, no layout or demo data.
I haven't even gotten to the problem of how to change the demo data to my own content yet… because I cannot even see the demo data.
please help!

Posted 7 years 3 months ago #19664We always recommend installing our demo content first to trial and understand the template more efficientlyIf youre visiting your Joomla Frontend you have to see the template with our basic logo but no content. The reason why is that you have not installed the demo content with all the modules. If you want to have the same look and feel like our demo server, you have to install the demo content. Therefore please read the demo content instruction.

Yes youre right, because the logo module is not published.
Please create the modules. Therefore read our instructions for the theme which is included

thank you, obviously I am too much of a newbie to figure this out… I have followed the instructions, deleted the already installed joomla version, FTP'd the DL files, tried the joomla install from there and ran into MySQL problems. honestly I do not understand why a template cannot be loaded into an installed Joomla version. my bad, my brand new joomlaplates subscription wasted, I will try a different type of building block

If you dont understand Joomla you will run always into the same issue.
1.) You can install the theme into an existing Joomla. But in this case you have to assignand create the modules and the content and so on
2.) You can install the quickstart package, which is a Joomla with all modules, images and content
