I want to put a custom module on the left, but it doesn't show up. Have already tried different positions "left" "side-left" "menu-left". The module is activated. The menu that is now in the screenshot (see screenshot) is on position "menu-left". But nothing works. Why is that or is that not possible?

You must also assign the module position in the template options under layouts.
Otherwise this cannot work.
