I managed to update to J4.
But I had to delete all 3rd party extensions and templates.
My advice:
Reinstall with Quickstart and import artikel, categories, user etc. with j2xml
www.eshiol.it/joomla/j2xml/j2xml39.html
But you have to check this:
You have more than 16000 registered Users.
I prefer a new j4-installation.
Good luck!
