Das ist mir bewusst, aber in eurem Template-Installationspaket zu "Life" gibt es nur den einen Ordner "Joomla3", in dem die Quickstart-Datei etc. drin sind.

Oder gibt es einen einfacheren Weg, direkt Joomla 4 mit dem Template "Life" zu installieren?

Ich befürchte, ich habe einfach die falsche Update-Version des Templates heruntergeladen gehabt... damit ging es natürlich nicht...
